Speaking of global warming, a poem by the fabulous Rae Desmond Jones of Sydney, Australia

St Elmos fire

As I drove into the storm
          Along Old Canterbury Road
Through volleys of rain
          Snakes of blue lightning danced
Along red tiled roof tops

Demons climbed the steeples
           & shimmied across the road

Whatever is up there was laughing
          With his mouth open
So I could see his tonsils

On the other side of the earth
It’s twenty five below
& this is only the beginning
